Denotation & Connotation blog:  tasks advert analysis.

Denotation: This image shows a boy who doesn't seem happy and looks like he is living in a poor place. We can also see that his clothes are old and not in the greatest condition.

Connotation:This adverts builds on the slogan "dig toilets not graves" The connotation the colours are dull/gloomy and they use this colour to make the audience unhappy so they feel to donate to this charity. It also provides a negative experience for the audience.

Analysis: The advert helps the audience understand the fact that the boy in the picture is obviously  in need for help because he doesn't look happy and water aid isnt a happy company they provide clean water and much more for the countries that don`t have the basic necessities that everyone needs. The slogan also shows that many people are dying in those countries so that is why we need to help provide fresh clean water and dig toilets not graves.
